New Features
Import a statement
Under Financial → Entries → Import, a bank CSV or OFX lands on the register after a line-by-line review.
What it's for
- Bring the statement in without retyping date, description, and amount
- Decide, on each line, whether to create an entry, settle an open item, or skip
- Register on the spot a category that came in the file and does not exist yet
How to use it
- Choose the register, download the sample CSV if you need the template, then upload the file
- For CSV, map date, description, and amount (or debit and credit). Category and cost center are optional. OFX skips this step
- On review, each line has its own columns for category, cost center, payment method, and customer
- The defaults at the top apply income category, expense category, cost center, and payment method to new lines. The category list is a tree you can search
- If the category name from the file does not exist, the line shows Not registered. Register creates the category and fills the other matching lines that were still empty
- Confirm. The summary reports how many lines were created, settled, and skipped
A category is required to create a line. Customer, payment method, and cost center are optional. Without the chosen open item, the settlement is not saved.
Full guide: Financial — Import a statement
Benefits
- A bank statement becomes register entries, with a review before anything is saved
- Category, payment method, and customer sit side by side, so the mapping does not wrap onto extra lines
- A new category from the file can be registered once and applied to every line with the same name
