WhatsApp group notifications
In busy groups, an alert on every message gets in the way. Each user can turn off notifications for a WhatsApp group — only for themselves. The group stays in the list, with history and the unread badge.

What changes when you turn it off

The preference is personal. Muting a group does not change alerts for teammates.
The default is on. It only changes when you turn it off.
Where to change it
- Edit Group modal (main) — click the group name in the header and use the Notifications switch at the top
- Group header — bell button next to Participants
- Chat list — group ⋮ menu → Mute notifications / Unmute notifications
Muted groups show a bell-off icon in the list and in the header.
What this control does not cover
- Internal groups and direct chats between agents
- 1:1 customer conversations
- Muting the group for the whole organization at once
